All Aboard!

We took Sidney to Herman Park for her first train ride! She seemed very excited when she saw the train. Once we got on she was not sure what to think. She started pointing to trees, ducks and of course her favorite, cars! Despite it being 200 degrees she had a blast! Herman Park is right behind the Texas Medical Center aka "Dada's work." The Houston Zoo, Miller Outdoor Theater and several museums are also in the park. In true Texas style, it's huge! It has some very pretty areas. We are looking forward to going back when it cools off.

  1. Katie, I happened to breeze by your comment on Kelly's blog and clicked on your blog. I can empathize with you ever so slightly regarding your comment on her post. I am in pharmacy school and all people ever want to talk about is "all the money" I'll be making when I'm out of school. Also, comments have been made to my husband about having a Sugar Mama or about him staying home with our children. It's disheartening, for sure. I'm also friends with a lot of physicians (through an old hospital job) and their wives and some definitely play the part of a "doctor's wife" but the majority just want to forget what their husbands do so they are not judged. I will be praying for you and that the comments roll off your back. Many blessings to you!

  2. Katie,

It looks like you had a really good time at the park! I love going to the local parks here, but I agree, it has just been TOO hot to even enjoy! We are all ready for some cooler Fall weather so we can revisit our favorite parks. That is so cool that there is such a nice convenient park next to your husband's hospital. I hope that things are going well for you and your family as you have transitioned in Texas.

    Happy Friday!
