We are in desperate need of a new camera before Sidney arrives. I was going to look today but I am snowed in (again.) Does anyone have any good camera recommendations? I was thinking about the Cannon Rebel? My husband already feels sorry for Sidney because he knows mom is going to take TONS of photos of her! I did find some baby photo shoot tips that I thought were helpful:
Here are some awesome baby photography blogs I found:
i am wanting a new camera too and was considering the rebel! let me know which one you end up getting!! i am clueless when it comes to cameras!
ReplyDeleteI would HIGHLY recommend the Rebel. We upgraded from a point and shoot to a DSLR a year or so ago and I have loved the results (though I have never really sat down and learned all the ins and outs of the camera!). If this is your first DSLR, I would go with the Rebel - from what I have read and learned, the body is not as important as the lens you use.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I picked up the heels at Rodes for Her in Louisville - next time I get an email announcing a sale, I'll let you know!
I would DEFINITELY recommend the Rebel. I would suggest getting some books to go along with it because you can't learn everything it does from the manual that comes with it. It is an investment but totally worth it!
ReplyDeletei have the canon rebel XS. i agree with sara, buy the camera body by itself and get a better lens than the what comes with the kit. i would recommend the 50mm 1.8. it's around $100 and is great!
ReplyDeletecheck out momtog.com! she has lots of great advice and old posts to help you from buying a camera to choosing a good lens.
any scott kelby books are very basic and easy to understand.
good luck!
Katie, we are having a "bluegrass blogger meet up" the 27th, send me your email so i can send you the invite!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else, a Rebel is the way to go. Even if you don't have time to learn everything before Sidney gets here, you'll grealy appreciate the quick shutter speed and not missing a moment! It's a lot of trial and error and I've found other blogs are the best way to learn the in's and out's. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be the cutest MOMMY! By the way - congrats on a girl - because you will spend yourself blind the clothes are SOOOO cute!
